Practical insight into solving complex coastal issues

In our range of coastal training courses, we explore how natural phenomena shape coastal environments and address strategies to assess and manage associated risks in coastal areas, including erosion, flooding and sea-level rise. We use case studies to illustrate real-world applications and bring learning to life using our innovative wave tank. The wave tank helps us to understand how water behaves at the coast and the key principles of flood and coastal risk management.

Our coastal courses include:

  • Coastal Processes and Management
  • Coastal Structures and Design
  • Wave Modelling Using SWAN

Asset management training delivered by accredited asset inspectors

All our trainers are accredited asset inspectors and understand the value of hands-on learning. Our asset inspection course is centred around gaining practical experience in the field, evaluating a range of assets in various states of condition. We are appointed to the Environment Agency as the sole provider for training and accreditation of Asset Inspectors for Visual Condition Assessment of Flood and Coastal Risk Management. To date, we've trained over 250 delegates from the EA, local authorities and consultancies.

Whether you've never inspected assets before or have existing knowledge, our trainers will build up your knowledge expertise and confidence to the standard required for accreditation. For course dates, see below.
