Asset management

JBA Culvert

Asset management is the systematic planning and prioritisation of investment to ensure that assets continue to meet performance requirements throughout their design life. The balance between performance, expenditure and risk to ensure cost-effective management is important for the best use of scarce resources, particularly in the current economic climate. Well managed assets will:

  • Improve performance
  • Extend operational life
  • Meet regulatory requirements
  • Minimise risk of failure
  • Reduce life cycle costs

The Asset Refurbishment Programme of Works

Set up in October 2014, the JBA Bentley Team in Peterborough have been delivering the Asset Refurbishment Programme of Works (ARPW) which provides longevity to assets across Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire.

JBA Bentley believes that demonstrating value for money is key and current asset management approaches need a shift from ‘find and fix’, to ‘predict and prevent’. We have been helping the EA achieve this, preventing failures before they occur, integrating asset management with cost forecasting and achieving certainty on maintenance and residual life through wise spend.
