A change of direction

Having worked in the legal sector for twenty years I decided to embark on a career change. The two sectors are very different but JBA recognised my transferable client skills and project management knowledge from conveyancing. There are lots of training opportunities and support available to help you progress and develop.

Initially, I was apprehensive about changing into a different sector. However, I would suggest to anyone who is in a similar situation and looking for a change, to take account of all the transferable skills you have and try something new – you never know what opportunities may be presented to you.

Finding a balance

My role at JBA encompasses procurement, business development and recruiting new talent to the company. There has been a lot to learn to familiarise myself with the many disciplines across JBA. I have already had lots of scope to grow my role, and the company is supportive in encouraging innovation and new ideas.

One of the things I love about JBA is the flexibility and work-life balance it brings. With hybrid working, I get to enjoy my role but I can also be on hand when my family need me. There is also a great emphasis within the company on well-being and the importance of good mental health.
