Contaminated Land

Contaminated land

When proposing a development it is a normal planning requirement that an assessment of contamination issues is undertaken, particularly where there is the potential for contamination to be present, or where the development is considered to be vulnerable. It is also the responsibility of the developer to ensure that land contamination issues are considered and where necessary that remediation is undertaken, such that the land is suitable for its intended use.

Our experienced team of geologists, hydrogeologists and geotechnical engineers can provide advice on a wide range of contaminated land related issues – ranging from single property residential and commercial developments through to large scale infrastructure and engineering projects on brownfield sites. Our services include:

  • Phase 1 Preliminary Geo-Environmental Risk Assessment
  • Phase 2 Site Investigation and Risk Assessment
  • Phase 3 & 4 Remediation & Validation (including Remediation Strategies and Options Appraisals)
  • Liaison with regulators
  • Materials management plans and site support

Using the development cycle, our team of specialists can advise on all aspects of contaminated land related problems. We can also provide advice for on the ground engineering during site development, which is often integrated with contaminated land management.
