Building on success: Our role in the EcoSF4 Framework
Building on our success with the Environment Agency's second and third Ecological Services Frameworks, we’re thrilled to be part of the next stage. The EcoSF4 Framework will allow the Environment Agency, Natural England and other Defra Group organisations to use specialist contractors such as ourselves to carry out technical and regulatory work. It will cover a range of freshwater and coastal ecological services, including specialist macroinvertebrate services, habitat and species surveys and evaluation, river restoration, geomorphology, habitat creation and fish passage design.
Let's take a look in more detail at the services we will provide as part of each lot on the framework.
Habitat and Species Survey, Evaluation and Report Writing Services - Lot 2
This lot will be used to procure ecological surveys, reportings and advice for a range of activities that will enable nature recovery as envisaged under the Government's Environmental Improvement Plan (EIP). This will include surveys and assessments for habitat creation and restoration of protected and priority habitats, along with contributions to EIP species targets and surveys and mitigation for a range of threatened, protected and priority species.

Geomorphology, River Restoration and Habitat Creations Services - Lot 3
Lot 3 focuses on the supply of river restoration and habitat creation expertise to inform and design feasibility studies. The aim of this Lot is to understand the natural functioning of the water environment through assessment work and to collaborate in the design of projects that improve natural geomorphological, hydrological and ecological processes for the purposes of reducing flood risk, restoring habitats and improving the movement of fish through catchments.

Fish Passage Design Services - Lot 4
This Lot covers the design of fish passes that prioritise the use of nature-based solutions, including feasibility studies, options appraisal and detailed design. The final design will offer the maximum benefit in terms of fish passage, ecological connectivity, morphological processes and habitat creation.
