JBA's New Marine and Coastal Sciences Research Centre
Dr Glenn Langler | Technical Director Marine NbS

The Marine and Coastal Sciences Research Centre is an innovative and impact-driven hub for research within the JBA Group, providing scientific evidence for the resilient and sustainable management of marine and coastal environments.

Collaborative working is a key aim for the Centre to facilitate external research funding and inter-disciplinary research. Environmental scientific research requires a team-based approach to provide the range of expertise to deliver solutions to the large-scale and complex issues that threaten societies.

The research team will undertake both applied and pure research to address the climate and biodiversity emergencies by building environmental resilience and promoting adaptive management measures. Building upon existing strengths within JBA in relation to flood and coastal management, the Centre will align with policies to promote climate resilience.

Bringing together academic, non-Governmental, and Government organisations through partnership working, the Centre positions itself as either lead or support partners to funding opportunities. It maintains strong partnership links within the industry at regional, national, and international levels.
