We are pleased to announce that Steve Thompsett has joined JBA as our new Discipline Lead for Policy, Strategy and Research. He will play a key role in supporting our clients address their challenges and meet their commitments in a changing climate.
Steve has more than 25 years’ experience working in water, flood and coastal risk management, on wider environmental issues, climate resilience, adaptation and sustainability, energy and natural resource management, across the private and public sectors.
Steve is an experienced leader, with a proven track record in driving cultural change, and influencing policy and regulation development at local and national government, and at EU level.
Steve has directed and led a range of policy, regulatory, technical and leadership areas. Delivering improved environmental performance and governance, sustainability commitments and commercial opportunities for businesses and supply chains – and steering change in ‘water policy’, ‘flood and coastal erosion risk management’, ‘integrated water management’, ‘environmental leadership’, ‘minerals planning’, ‘seismicity and subsurface risk management’, ‘waste strategy’, ‘security’ and ‘health and safety leadership’.
Steve will direct JBA’s provision of policy, strategic advice and supporting research to our clients. Driving our teams and expertise forward to enable decision and policy makers, to adapt to the challenges of climate change while increasing their resilience to its impacts.
