National Modelling and Risk Assessment Technician – Fixed Term Contract

To support several recently secured and ongoing strategic national modelling and risk assessment projects, we have several fixed term contract positions (typically 6 to 12-month duration) available at our head office at Broughton Park, on the outskirts of Skipton, North Yorkshire. 

Typical tasks include data management, manipulation, processing and visualisation in support of national modelling and risk assessment.

Location:

The role will be in our modern, eco-friendly offices at Broughton Park, near Skipton, North Yorkshire, BD23 3FD and includes ample free parking and EV charging points. JBA supports agile working which provides for greater flexibility with the way that we work.

Qualifications and experience

Key competencies required for the role:
 
We are looking for hard working, well organised, motivated, enthusiastic, flexible individuals who have the effective communication skills to liaise with clients and colleagues.
 
The ideal candidate will have:
 
·         experience in the use of ArcMap, QGIS or a similar GIS package
·         have some background in hydraulics and knowledge of flood risk practices in the UK
·         experience of working in an office environment and planning and organising task delivery.
