CAD Technician

JBA Consulting is one of the leading consultancies in water engineering in the UK and Ireland. Due to the significant growth in our engineering teams in Haywards Heath and Portsmouth, we currently have several vacancies for 3D CAD Technicians who wish to work on a variety of projects including national scale coastal and fluvial defence schemes and infrastructure projects.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, Civil 3D or Revit technician to join our engineering team in our Haywards Heath office, West Sussex. As a technician you would provide technical support to our coastal, maritime, structural and fluvial engineering teams, developing engineering design drawings and models on a variety of projects from concept development through to detailed design.
Location:
The role will ideally be based in either our Haywards Heath, RH16 3BW or Portsmouth, PO6 3EZ office. JBA supports agile working which provides for greater flexibility with the way that we work.

Qualifications and experience
We are looking for applicants with effective communication skills, methodical workers with a great eye for detail and are experienced working in a civil engineering design office.
The role would be ideally suited to a technician with significant experience working in a civil engineering design office and preferably hold a HND or equivalent in engineering or CAD.
We are looking for someone who is:
- proficient in the use of 3D Autodesk design software, with experience in Civil 3D or Revit essential
- proficient in the use of 2D Autodesk drafting packages (AutoCAD)
- has a working knowledge of BIM and its application within civil engineering.
It would also be advantageous to have an understanding and working use of BS EN ISO 19650 – Organization of information about construction works – Information management using building information modelling, together with a knowledge in Microsoft Office packages.
