Do you have knowledge of hydrological models?

Do you want to join a dynamic and growing company?

Flood Foresight is a globally scalable operational system providing data on rainfall severity, flood inundation footprints and depth, and flood impacts.  Flood Foresight supports operational flood management in the infrastructure, insurance, utilities and civil contingencies sectors.  Flood Foresight is in operation in several countries internationally including the UK, Australia, Pakistan and Myanmar, with ongoing projects to set up the system in Democratic Republic of Congo, Togo, Ghana and a number of other countries.

Due to a growing number of Flood Foresight projects, we are looking for a Hydrological Forecasting Analyst to join the Flood Foresight team.

The role involves the following:

In depth knowledge of hydrological models at a variety of scales (such as GloFAS) is key for this role.

The research and development nature of Flood Foresight means that there is always the opportunity to further improve the methods and data used in the system. You will take a lead role in developing the science used in Flood Foresight, in particular the hydrological models used by the system.

You will work closely with a team of scientists and software developers located in several JBA offices and the role will require liaising with clients, projects managers and other team members.

You will be involved in mentoring and supporting the technical development of less experienced colleagues in the team.
