Are you an experienced Flood Risk Modeller?

Are you looking to develop your career within an exciting environmental company?

We have a vacancy for an experienced flood risk modeller with a background in hydrology and flood estimation to join our team.  You will be working in an established team assisting with the delivery of a broad range of flood risk and economic appraisal projects for Local Authorities, Environment Agency and SEPA.

Recent and on-going projects include:

  • Appraisal and design of Flood Protection Schemes across the UK
  • Asset management and cost estimation of flood assets
  • Modelling and appraisal studies in Northumberland the Scottish Borders and Aberdeenshire
  • Flood risk assessments

Qualifications and experience

Key competencies required for the role:

The most important characteristics we are looking for are the ability to learn and apply new skills, and an interest in water and the environment.  We are looking for a hardworking, well organised, motivated, enthusiastic, flexible individual who can work on their own or as part of a team and can communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with other team members.

Who we’re looking for:

The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of flood risk management practices in the UK, together with the ability for innovative thinking and a strong analytical and problem-solving background.

A relevant degree(s) in geography, environmental management, or engineering is very advantageous; a post-graduate qualification is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have a good technical background with relevant commercial experience and be familiar with both 1D and 2D modelling methods and their application to a range of studies. The post would suit someone with experience looking to develop their career in an established team.

A valid UK driving licence will be required
