We are looking for engineers specialising in drainage design and flood risk management to join our teams in Skipton, Coleshill, Newport and Warrington. Our teams provide strategic, feasibility and design advice to a range of clients involved in development and land use planning and flood risk projects, including surface water drainage design, flood risk assessments, catchment scale flood management and flood defence feasibility studies through framework appointments.
The varied workload for these projects involves site viability assessments, strategic surface and foul water drainage designs, flood risk assessments, site walkovers and commissioning surveys as required. You will supervise satisfactory resolution to engineering issues identified during planning applications, supporting clients in gaining the necessary approvals. You will liaise with developers/clients, consult with regulators and planning authorities and work with inter-disciplinary teams from within JBA to deliver suitable designs.
The ideal candidate will gain experience implementing the National Planning Policy Framework, building regulations, Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations and other development related guidance and standards in their work.

We have roles available in our head office, Skipton BD23 3FD, Coleshill B46 3AD, Newport NP20 1QU and Warrington WA1 1WA – some UK travel will be necessary, and a valid driving licence is desirable.
Qualifications and experience
Key competencies required for the role:
You will have an environmental or physical science related qualification, degree or equivalent.
Chartered status (ICE, CIWEM) is important to JBA and valued by our clients therefore applicants should either be chartered or show a desire to work towards becoming chartered.
