Tailored support to help you lay the foundations for your career

As a Graduate on our scheme, you will take part in a two-year development programme centred around a core set of competencies that will help you develop the expertise and confidence to succeed. Guided by our dedicated Graduate Scheme Coordinator, you will tailor your experience to one (or sometimes more) of five technical pathways.

You’ll also have the support of our in-house industry experts and all the training you need. In no time at all you’ll be putting your new found skills and knowledge to good use and getting involved in some of our most innovative projects.

Entry requirements and application details

JBA is a place where graduates thrive. We will teach you the ropes, support you and listen to you, but also give you opportunities to try new things and test your limits, all within a welcoming and forward-thinking modern working environment which encourages innovation and focusses on solutions not problems. We are up for a challenge, are you?

  • Minimum entry requirements

    To apply to our Graduate Development Scheme, as a minimum, by the time you join us you will need:

    • An awarded bachelor’s degree in a discipline relevant to one or more of our “pathways”. For example, an Engineering degree if you are applying to our Engineering pathway or an environmental-related degree if you are applying to our Environmental Management and Sustainability pathway and so on.
    • One or more A-Levels (or equivalent) in a STEM subject.
    • The right to work in the UK.
  • Desirable experience

    It will be advantageous to your application if you have, and / or can evidence:

    • A postgraduate qualification (such as a master’s degree or PGCert) in a discipline relevant to your area of intended expertise (in addition to or instead of a bachelor’s degree).
    • Relevant work experience (e.g., gained through an internship, year-in-industry placement, or voluntary roles).
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • The ability to work independently under supervision or as a team-member.
    • The ability to reflect on and check your work to make sure outputs meet specified requirements or quality criteria.
    • Confidence and willingness to work outdoors or in remote environments if the nature of your role requires it.
