Webinar 1:  Using Fluvial Geomorphology in your project

The first webinar in our new digital series will explore the applications of Fluvial Geomorphology in your project. You’ll learn what fluvial geomorphology is, and how it can be applied to the working environment, through real-life project examples.

Matt Hemsworth, Technical Director and Fluvial Geomorphology expert will lead you through our first webinar covering:

  • What is fluvial geomorphology
  • How do rivers evolve in different environments and what can influence this?
  • Geomorphology and river and catchment restoration
  • Geomorphology and asset management and maintenance
  • Q&A

About the presenter

Matt Hemsworth, Technical Director is our lead Fluvial Geomorphologist and Hydromorphologist, with professional specialist experience in applying fluvial geomorphology in construction, river restoration, sediment transport, hydraulic modelling and Natural Flood Management. Matt leads our Fluvial Geomorphology team, is an experienced project manager and is a Chartered Water and Environmental Manager (MCIWEM C.WEM).

Matt is also an experienced trainer, running Hydromorphology, River Restoration and Hydraulic Modelling courses for JBA throughout the UK, and teaches on the JBA/Lancaster University Sustainable Floodplain Management and River Restoration module of the PGcert / MSc.
