This webinar covers a range of topics across Natural Flood Management (NFM), giving you the unique opportunity to gain valuable industry knowledge from a recognised expert.

Over the course of the webinar our presenter will share lessons from modelling investigations of NFM in industry, academia on effective NFM and effective modelling of NFM. By the end of the webinar, you will have gained some insights into whole-system behaviour of NFM, and the potential to incorporate climate resilience. Finally, you will also learn about the multi-local scale approach to modelling and how to implement effective NFM.

About the presenter

Head of Environmental Modelling, Barry Hankin has 25 years’ experience in the sector; five in academic; three in regulatory; and seventeen in consultancy.

Barry specialises in modelling and management of whole-catchment risks, advancing techniques for distributed modelling of nature-based solutions and diffuse pollution measures to improve understanding our understanding of resilience. Having previously worked for the EA, SEPA and in academia, Barry has a wealth of knowledge and experience covering a range of disciplines including, flood risk management, hydrology, hydraulics, water quality and GIS.
