David Revill has been appointed as JBA’s Group Sustainability Manager. David will help drive our business sustainability to the next level and implement our Carbon and Resource Use Management Plan.
At JBA sustainability is central to our business philosophy and we are committed to minimising the environmental impact of our operations and activities and to move rapidly towards being a Net Zero organisation. We have already taken several important steps to reduce the environmental impact of our business, setting objectives to reduce our energy and water usage, business travel, waste generation, and use of business consumables. We measure and report against these objectives annually though our ISO14001 accredited Environmental Management System (EMS).
In 2021, we want to take this further. We want to work more efficiently, minimising our resource use and its environmental impact. Our aim is to achieve Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions across our business, taking into account our own operations and also our indirect emissions and impacts. We want to engage more with our staff, suppliers, and clients on this subject, to demonstrate our commitment to sustainability, show leadership within our industry, and manage our supply chain with accountability.
David is a Chartered Environmentalist with more than 17 years’ experience in environmental management, assessment, and project management, gained in both consultancy and in the public sector with the Environment Agency. He has extensive knowledge of environmental sustainability, policy and practice.
“It was David’s knowledge and understanding of current and emerging business sustainability standards, guidance and practice, and their relevance to JBA, that shone through. He has played a key part in the development of our Carbon and Resource Use Management Plan and the co-ordination of energy and carbon compliance assessments. Above all his great enthusiasm for sustainability, and ability to influence and support, makes him ideal for the role.” Jeremy Benn, Executive Chairman, JBA Group
