BREEAM assessment for Betteshanger Country Park

Reporting on environmental performance is becoming increasingly important during the construction, life and operation of new assets. Environmental Management Systems (EMS) provide a framework for this.

Marpaul (Construction Company) asked us to help with their Betteshanger Country Park visitor centre project in north Kent. Assessments were required for BREEAM credits as part of the planning submission.

We worked closely alongside Marpaul and their landscaping team to make recommendations for enhancing the ecology and biodiversity value of the site.

Results of the BREEAM assessment and recommendations supported the landscape plans and an ecology management plan for the visitor centre.

There are numerous tools available to help design and plan environmental performance improvements. We are familiar with the use of many of these tools such as; BREEAM, CEQUAL, Carbon Calculators, Code for Sustainable Homes. We can:

  • Prepare and deliver training in EMS
  • Support the development of an appropriate EMS
  • Prepare BREEAM assessments
  • Prepare Construction Environmental Management Plans CEMP.
