We’re looking for skilled graduates/post-graduates to support our work in data collection, verification and analysis in flooding, hydrogeology and water resources, as well as reservoir, tidal and coastal risk management.
This unique opportunity gives you the chance to gain hands on experience working on some of our most exciting projects. You will join our team, delivering consultancy projects and research across the fields of water management, resilience and climate change adaptation.
Working alongside technical specialists and industry experts, this is an ideal opportunity to learn about data collection, data management, hydrological, hydraulic, coastal and water quality modelling, modelling of natural perils, environmental policy and law.
Water Management/Geoscience Graduate Requirements
To be considered for a place on our Water Management/Geoscience Graduate Scheme you will have technical knowledge and a strong interest in some or all of the following:
Good grades at A-Level/Leaving Certificate in one or more of the following subjects: Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths.
A degree in a relevant discipline e.g. Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Environmental Engineering, Climate Science or Maths.
A higher degree in a water related discipline may be advantageous, although is not a prerequisite.
Technical knowledge/interest in hydrology, hydrogeology, water quality/resources, coastal risk, climate adaptation and the water environment including the use and/or development of numerical models.
Previous experience (and confidence) in data analysis and dealing with large volume data sets.
Some programming experience (skills in Python and/or the R statistical package) would be advantageous, and or an interest and aptitude in developing these skills.
Previous experience using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) such as ArcView and QGIS.
Motivated to work on climate adaptation, flood and coastal risk management and water management projects.
