Overview

A two day course covering the latest legislation including the 2009 Flood Risk Management (Scotland) Act and the Scottish Planning Policy SPP Planning and Flooding Guidance.

The course highlights the responsibilities of key stakeholders including the Scottish Government, SEPA, local authorities, developers and land owners. It will concentrate on the practical implications of the legislation and guidance, what it means in terms of cost and resource requirements, and how stakeholders need to respond.

Planning staff from Scottish Local Authorities, consultants and developers involved with planning applications, flood risk/drain impact assessments, management and maintenance of watercourses and flood risk management measures.
