JBA is at the forefront of Flood Risk Management. We bring our experience of completing Strategic Flood Risk Assessments for over 40 Local Planning Authorities and 16 Catchment Flood Management Plans for England and Wales to any assessment of flood risk.

JBA provides a comprehensive flood risk management service including flood risk mapping and modelling detailed flood risk assessment and planning and construction of mitigation measures that manage flood risk to acceptable levels.

JBA has completed or is tasked with producing Flood Zone Maps for England, Wales, France, Czech Republic, Slovenia and Ireland using the latest 2d modelling tools.

We have extensive experience of the planning process and management of flood risk from complex river and tidal systems. We also have in-depth understanding of PPS25 ,TAN15 and NPPG7.

JBA are leading consultants in the production of Catchment Flood Management Plans which are designed to investigate flooding issues and identify long term policies for managing flood risk including the consequences of climate and land use changes.

We are at the forefront of social policy issues and understand how spatial planning, including retrospective withdrawal from high flood risk areas, can be used to manage existing and future risk.

Working for the EA and Local Authorities, JBA has examined the effectiveness of non structural responses to flood risk. Our understanding of experiences and approaches to flood management, using flood warning, emergency planning and self help measures from across the world, will inform your spatial planning process or site design.

JBA has also completed the Defra funded research project Flooding from Other Sources. This involved flood risk mapping from groundwater, surface water and canal breaches. As part of this work we have developed a unique approach to modelling the impact of surface water flooding, a key consideration of any strategic flood risk assessment process.

Based on our experience and application of flood risk policy in the UK JBA has now developed the Flood Risk Management Guidance for Spatial Planning and Development Management for Ireland.
