Hydrometry
JBA’s hydrometry group undertakes flow measurement (for example current metering), rainfall measurement and water quality and groundwater measurement.
We have completed feasibility studies for over 10 new flow gauging sites for clients and have designed and supervised the construction of 15 new or upgraded flow gauging sites (including cable ways, new structures and ultrasonic gauges) for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, the Environment Agency and British Waterways.
JBA has been involved in a number of projects to harmonise data collection systems and dissemination methods for water resources, hydrometry and flood management users. JBA was lead consultant for the Hiflows-UK project, undertook the strategic review of the Irish hydro-meteorological network for the Office of Public Works, and are currently assisting the Environment Agency in reviewing its national flow measurement network.
To see how we can help you with your hydrometry needs, please contact Paul Wass or Maxine Zaidman.
