Web GIS / Mapping Applications

JBA began to develop web-based GIS applications soon after the primary GIS providers started releasing the software, and the infrastructure became sufficiently robust to operate the processes effectively.

Our first application was a corporate GIS intranet application for the Yorkshire Forward Regional Development Agency. We have recently been appointed to update this application to .NET 2.0 in order to take advantage of the improved functionality and performance of the software. This application was based around MapInfo’s MapXtreme.

We also have extensive experience in developing with ESRI’s ArcIMS, and more recently, ArcGIS Server, having developed systems for the UK’s rail industry, the Association of Drainage Boards, Translink (Northern Ireland’s railway system), Waterways Ireland and Local Authorities. Additionally we have experience with a number of the budget web-based GIS applications (Tatuk and Demis) and have developed our own application, GISma.

JBA is able to develop these systems with the software of our clients’ choice as we are not tied to an individual provider; as such we can advise our clients of the most appropriate software for their specific requirements or adopt systems compatible with their existing software, as appropriate.

Application Areas:

  • Asset Management

  • Flood Risk Management

  • Business Information Systems

  • Field Survey and Data Capture
