Utilities
Climate change and the uncertain world and UK economic conditions have made it essential for those involved in the utilities sector to consider carefully how they plan, manage and operate their assets and infrastructure.
Through historic commitments to the Environment Agency over the last 15 years JBA has developed staff, resources and skills without parallel in the UK consultancy industry.
JBA offers expert services to utilities companies and we have an excellent track record. We are currently involved in a range of projects which require us to model pipe networks; monitor and analyse flows from new developments; investigate the connectivity of sewer overflows to improve future operations; assess the risks and consequences used to prioritise the delivery of drainage area plans (DAPs) and model upgrades for 280 small catchments.
We are appointed consultants on Yorkshire Water’s AMP5 specialist river flow modelling framework and we offer expert advice on the use of Sustainable Drainage Systems to assist with the compliance of the Water Framework Directive (WFD).
The water regulator OfWat now places great pressure on water companies to use catchment management techniques to improve water quality and avoid the capital expenditure and carbon footprint associated with the construction of new treatment works. JBA is able to call on the investment made in innovative approaches to surface runoff (JFlow+) and the assessment of the performance of SuDS systems (music) to provide technical evidence that is now in great demand.
JBA ‘s provision of consultancy services to the utility sector build on the innovation and commitment historically made to the Environment Agency. In future JBA will be recognised by utilities and transport clients as being the UK market leader in provision of specialist consultancy services.
We value our clients existing and new and look forward to working with you. So whether you are a returning client who knows us well or one who would like to find out more about this area of JBA’s work, please email Alastair Dale or call him on 01444 473652.
JBA – exceeding expectations
